A Visual Field Guide to Carl Jung’s AION
Deciphering Symbols of the Modern Psyche
What happens when the words of Carl Jung are no longer simply read—but seen?
A Visual Field Guide to Carl Jung’s AION is a personal visual exploration of Jung’s Aion: Research into the Phenomenology of the Self. Rather than attempting to summarize or explain the entire book, this illustrated volume selects passages that feel especially alive for our present moment and places them beside hand-drawn symbolic imagery.
The images began as drawings—sometimes deliberate, sometimes emerging intuitively from the passages themselves—and were then refined through an AI Pop Art process. The result is neither an academic commentary nor a conventional illustrated edition. It is a visual field guide: a collection of symbols meant to slow the reader down, invite contemplation, and perhaps reveal something that words alone might not.
The journey moves through some of Jung’s most challenging ideas:
The Shadow. Inflation. The Anima and Animus. Mandalas. The Self. Good and Evil. Projection. Collective psychology. The Antichrist. The Sword of Damocles. The New Rock. The symbolism of the Fish and Agape. Consciousness, Fate, and the possibility of another way.
These passages feel particularly urgent in a world overwhelmed by information, political division, technological acceleration, propaganda, and competing claims about what is true.
Jung reminds us that what remains unconscious can become fate.
This book asks what might become possible when we are willing to look.
A Book to Look Into, Not Just Look At
This is a small book meant for slow reading.
Open it.
Look at an image.
Read the passage.
Look again.
Some symbols may make immediate sense. Others may remain mysterious. That is intentional. A symbol does not always give us an answer; sometimes it gives us a question we did not know we needed to ask.
The images in this book are my own visual responses to Jung’s words. They are not presented as definitive interpretations. They are invitations into the symbolic world of Aion and into the strange territory where the conscious and unconscious meet.
Perhaps the most important question is not what Jung meant.
It is:
What does the symbol mean to you?
