Naked Athena has placed herself between the beasts of our collective rage. She emerged like soothing rain to calm that moment, but archetype can rage as well. To me, Naked Athena is a beautiful counter force to hate and violence–her she is, a naked woman’s body, unadorned by trappings of modern civilization placed boldly in the line of conflict. Some say these protests have descended into spectacle. I say, they have ascended into a realm we must remember now. The body is a clear place.
